On May 13, 2012, Stockton area Muslims and friends will gather for an evening to learn and discuss how we can strengthen our families and communities with three of our most renowned teachers.
In today’s world, American Muslims are an ethnically and economically diverse and growing community who face an array of challenges. We must struggle with raising our children and supporting our families and relationships. We must also struggle with strengthening our community bonds and find our place in society.
* How can we become a community of strong families, a community of service, a community that is a mercy to the wider society?
* How can we become a community that can help transform our wider society for the better?
* How can we become individuals and a community that grows in love for each other and for humanity for the sake of Allah?
In a recent Friday sermon, Stockton Imam Osman Zarif talked about how the late Imam WD Muhammad — America’s Imam — challenged us to include all humanity in our dreams.
* How can we become a community that includes everyone in our dreams for the future?
* How can we work to establish the vision of Beloved Community?
These are the questions that the invited speakers will address and discuss in this community forum.
